New moon May 2023
Book Launch + Zcreening of the film + Zoom Meeting with Ryan Trecartin

For the new moon of May 2023, Luna hosted an evening devoted to K-CoreaINC.K (Section A), one of the defining works of internet-era moving image by Ryan Trecartin. Across frenetic, densely layered videos, Trecartin has spent two decades staging a language of the screen — identity, speech and selfhood accelerated and remixed until they dissolve into pure network noise. Few practices sit closer to the questions Internet Moon Gallery has orbited since 2016, which made this encounter feel less like a screening and more like a homecoming. The night was built around a single work seen from two sides. Nagi Bookz launched its edition of K-CoreaINC.K (Section A) — a full transcription of the film translated into Spanish, turning Trecartin's breathless, near-untranslatable stream of speech into something you can hold, slow down and read. The book launch was paired with a screening of the film itself, projected in the intimacy of the Luna space, so the printed text and the moving image could be experienced against one another. To close, a live Zoom conversation with Ryan Trecartin connected València with the artist in real time for an open exchange with everyone in the room. Part book launch, part screening, part transatlantic call, the event turned Luna into a small antenna between physical space and the wider network — and between image and page, English and Spanish, speed and stillness. Exactly the kind of relationship, between the earthbound and the online, that the project keeps chasing.
